Travel Itinerary
Upon your arrival in Kathmandu (altitude: approximately 1,400 m), you will be picked up from the airport and taken to your hotel. There, you will receive a brief introduction and have time to recover from your journey.
On the second day, a comprehensive preparation for your trekking adventure is scheduled. You will meet your guide, who will provide you with a detailed introduction to the route and check your trekking gear. You will also have time to make last-minute purchases and buy any missing equipment.
The actual trek begins with an exciting flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (altitude: approximately 2,860 m). The landing at the short and spectacular airport in Lukla is an experience in itself. From Lukla, you will start your hike towards Phakding (altitude: approximately 2,610 m), a picturesque village on the banks of the Dudh Koshi River. The walking time is approximately 3-4 hours.
Today, you will continue your trek and reach Namche Bazaar (altitude: approximately 3,440 m), the vibrant capital of the Khumbu region. The path leads over steep trails and offers breathtaking views of Mount Everest and its neighboring peaks. The walking time is approximately 5-6 hours.
To further adjust to the altitude, an additional acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar is planned. You can undertake an optional hike to the Everest View Hotel, from where you can enjoy a stunning view of Mount Everest and other surrounding peaks. Alternatively, you can simply relax and explore the picturesque surroundings of Namche.
The trek continues to Tengboche (altitude: approximately 3,860 m), a significant spiritual center of the region. The path winds through rhododendron forests and offers spectacular views of Ama Dablam and other snow-capped peaks. The walking time is approximately 5-6 hours.
You will continue your hike and reach Dingboche (altitude: approximately 4,410 m), an idyllic village nestled among the mountains. The path leads through alpine landscapes and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks. The walking time is approximately 5-6 hours.
Today is another acclimatization day to further help your body adjust to the altitude. You can take a short hike in the area or simply rest and enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
The path leads you further to Lobuche (altitude: approximately 4,940 m), a small village at the foot of the Khumbu Glacier. The landscape becomes increasingly alpine as you approach Everest Base Camp. Upon arriving in Lobuche, you will have time to rest and prepare for the upcoming visit to Everest Base Camp. The walking time is approximately 5-6 hours.
Today marks the highlight of your trekking tour: the visit to Everest Base Camp (altitude: approximately 5,364 m). You will hike over the Khumbu Glacier and finally reach the base camp, from where climbers set out to ascend Mount Everest. After reaching the base camp, you will return to Gorak Shep (altitude: approximately 5,164 m), where you will spend the night. The walking time is approximately 8-9 hours.
Early in the morning, you will climb Kala Patthar (altitude: approximately 5,545 m), a viewpoint offering a spectacular view of Mount Everest and the surrounding peaks. After enjoying the sunrise, you will descend to Pheriche (altitude: approximately 4,240 m), another stop on your way back. The walking time is approximately 7-8 hours.
The descent takes you back through the picturesque landscape of the Khumbu region. You will pass through the villages of Tengboche and Khumjung again before reaching Namche Bazaar. The walking time is approximately 6-7 hours.
Today, you will continue your descent and reach Lukla, the starting point of your trekking tour. This will be your last night in the mountains before flying back to Kathmandu the next day. The walking time is approximately 6-7 hours.
