Departure to Kathmandu

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, your tour guide will welcome the participants. A traditional greeting with a garland and transfer to the hotel. Program introduction, dinner, and overnight stay at the hotel.

The palace complexes of Durbar Square in Kathmandu are considered the most important Hindu sanctuary in the country. We have the whole day to visit the numerous pagodas and temples. Bodnath is very impressive in the evening with its lights, numerous prayer wheels, monks, and prayer flags. Overnight stay at the hotel.

After breakfast, you will drive 10 km to Bungamati and Khokana. Both are small Buddhist/Hindu Newar villages. Khokana is known for its beautiful wood carvings and typical brick houses. Here, you will experience the daily life of the people of the Kathmandu Valley. Life mainly takes place on the streets—cooking, washing, and cleaning. The journey continues to Nagarkot, a place situated at an altitude of about 2150 m, offering a breathtaking view of the Langtang Himal mountain range, from the Annapurna to the Everest massif. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Dhulikhel is situated on the Friendship Highway, which connects Kathmandu with Tibet, offering beautiful views of the surrounding mountain landscape.

Today promises to be an amazing day. After breakfast, you will drive for about two hours to Kavre Bhanjang and continue up a hill, where the beautiful Namobuddha Monastery is located, offering a magnificent view of the vast Panchkhal Valley and the mountain range. In the afternoon, there is an opportunity to observe or participate in a monastery ceremony alongside hundreds of Tibetan monks. You will then take a leisurely two-hour hike back to your hotel, enjoying breathtaking views of the Himalayas.

In the afternoon, a cooking class is planned—we will shop for ingredients, cook, and enjoy dinner together with a local family. Overnight stay at the hotel.
