Flight to Kathmandu

You can obtain a visa for Nepal directly upon your arrival at Kathmandu airport for a fee of USD 35 for 30 days. Transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.

In the morning, visit the Boudhanath Stupa, also known as “Little Tibet” of Nepal – the most important structure for Buddhists. Located on the outskirts of Kathmandu, the constant turning of prayer wheels and the meditative sounds immediately transport you to another world. In the afternoon, visit the Swayambhunath Stupa, the oldest and most significant Buddhist sanctuary with the all-seeing eyes of Buddha. Overnight stay at the hotel.

After breakfast, explore the local Asan market, located in the heart of Nepal’s capital. Immerse yourself in the colorful world of traders and experience the bustling activity. Next, visit the Kathesimbu Stupa, a popular site for Tibetan pilgrims and a small replica of the Swayambhunath Stupa. In the afternoon, visit the small town of Budhanilkantha, where you will find a 1,000-year-old stone statue of the sleeping god Vishnu, considered one of the country’s greatest masterpieces. Today, you will fly from Kathmandu to Paro. During the flight, you will enjoy breathtaking views of the world’s highest mountains. Upon arrival in Paro, drive approximately 125 km to Punakha via the Dochu-la Pass (3,140 m). Visit the majestic Punakha Dzong, the most beautiful and the second-oldest fortress monastery in Bhutan. Overnight stay at the hotel.

After breakfast, drive approximately three hours to Thimphu, the capital and largest city of Bhutan. Spend the day exploring Thimphu. In the afternoon, visit the majestic Tashichho Dzong, rebuilt in 1962. On the way back to the hotel, visit the Memorial Chorten, built by the Queen Mother to honor the spirit of King Jigme Dorji Wangchuk. Overnight stay at the hotel.

A two-hour bus ride takes us to the Paro Valley, followed by a 30-minute drive to the Taktsang Monastery. Taktsang means “Tiger’s Nest” – according to legend, the second Buddha, Guru Padmasambhava, flew here on the back of a tigress. This extraordinary monastery was built in the 8th century. Nearby, a beautifully situated restaurant offers a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy Bhutanese delicacies for lunch. Afterward, we take a leisurely hike back to Paro along the same path. In the afternoon, you can visit the Kyichu Lhakhang Temple, one of the oldest Buddhist sanctuaries in the Tibetan cultural region. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Transfer to Paro airport and continue the journey to Dhulikhel, near the Tibetan border. Dhulikhel lies on the “Friendship Highway,” which connects Kathmandu with Tibet. In the afternoon, visit the local market and the old town of Dhulikhel. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Today, embark on a day hike to a hilltop where the Namobuddha Monastery is located. This monastery offers stunning views of the Panchkhal Valley and the surrounding mountain range. In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to observe or participate in a monastic ceremony with hundreds of Tibetan monks. Enjoy a leisurely two-hour walk back to your hotel with panoramic views of the Himalayas. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Early in the morning, after breakfast, drive to Bhaktapur, a historic city in Nepal renowned for its well-preserved medieval architecture and cultural significance. Also known as the “City of Devotion,” Bhaktapur is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that attracts thousands of visitors annually. In the afternoon, continue your journey back to Kathmandu. Overnight stay at the hotel.
